John W. Elias offers authoritative comprehensive antitrust counsel, advising on regulatory risk and helping clients avoid and resolve government enforcement and private litigation. John draws on nearly two decades of federal government experience involving virtually every aspect of antitrust regulation, enforcement and policy. Prior to joining the firm, John served as Deputy Assistant Attorney General of the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice, overseeing the division’s appellate, international and policy work. In that role, he represented the United States in international convenings of antitrust enforcers on AI. Earlier in his career, John litigated both civil and criminal cases for the division, first as a civil trial attorney with the Transportation, Energy & Agriculture Section and then in the Washington Criminal Section. John has also served in advisory roles, including within the White House Counsel’s Office as a Senior Associate Counsel.
