Joan de Solà-Morales is a Partner at RBB Economics, based in Brussels. He has extensive experience in the economic assessment of mergers, having advised on numerous Phase II investigations before the European Commission, raising horizontal, vertical and conglomerate concerns. Examples of merger cases that Joan has worked on in recent years include EssilorLuxottica/GrandVision, Alstom/Bombardier, Siemens/Alstom, Dow/DuPont, Essilor/Luxottica, Halliburton/BHI, FedEx/TNT, and Cargill/ADM.

Joan has also advised on cases before a large number of national competition authorities, and has given expert testimony before national and arbitration courts. He also works regularly on the economic analysis of abuse of dominance cases, horizontal agreements, and vertical restraints.
