Ryan Tansey is the Chief of the Antitrust Division’s Washington Criminal Section in DC, where he supervises nearly 50 prosecutors and 40 staff who investigate and prosecute anticompetitive crimes across a broad range of significant industries in regional, national, and international markets. Ryan has been at DOJ for over eight years and previously served as both a Trial Attorney and an Assistant U.S. Attorney. He has investigated and prosecuted dozens of white-collar cases—including as the lead prosecutor on one of the Division’s most significant international cartel prosecutions in the last decade. He has also tried over a dozen cases to successful jury verdicts and earned multiple awards and recognitions for superior trial advocacy skills. Prior to joining DOJ Ryan was a Senior Associate in the antitrust group at WilmerHale, NY. He’s a 2012 graduate of UVA law and is an avid backcountry skier and mountaineer.
