Marcus heads Linklaters’ Asia Antitrust and Foreign Investment Group from our hub in Hong Kong. He was named Antitrust Lawyer of the Year (Under 40) by GCR in 2021. With extensive experience advising on matters before competition agencies across Asia, Marcus regularly advises on multijurisdictional merger control and regional antitrust investigations and compliance matters. Marcus has been a key adviser in various significant market-changing transactions in the region, including HGC’s proposed US$1bn bid takeover of HKBN, Intel Corporation on its US$9bn divestment of its NAND business to SK Hynix and CP Group on the US$10.6bn acquisition of Tesco’s businesses in Thailand and Malaysia. He has been at the forefront of many of the “firsts” before the Hong Kong Competition Commission, and litigation in the Competition Tribunal – including the GCR Behavioural matter of the year - APMEA 2025.
